The deployment mechanism in a CADA structure. The deploying foundation retains title to the asset and grants the recipient institution a right to use it for its charitable purpose. Critically distinct from a lease: there is no consideration, no enforceable payment obligation, and no conveyance of economic exposure to the recipient.
A CADA-deployed imaging system sits in a hospital under a right-of-use agreement. The foundation owns it. The hospital uses it. The hospital's accounting treatment does not recognise a liability because there is no obligation to pay — only a possibility of voluntary contribution.
